After finishing high school, I spent nearly a decade in the creative industry which included studying Theatre and Performance and Psychology at UCT, working in television and eventually running my own production company. In my late twenties, I moved to Sweden and started a career in education at Internationella Engelska Skolan, the largest private school organization in Sweden. There, I discovered my passion for working with children, especially in developing tools and strategies to help them overcome challenges others might find “normal.”
I became part of the management team that would manage our own school and assist new schools across the country in developing and building structures and efficient routines to assist in their systematic quality development. Eventually, I accepted the Assistant Principal role at Uppsala International School before returning to South Africa.
Professional Background

My greatest qualification for helping you or your child is my lived experience with ADHD. I know firsthand the challenges it brings, from feeling misunderstood to struggling to understand myself. As a parent of a child diagnosed with both ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), I deeply relate to the everyday challenges families face, especially in balancing home life, school, and extracurricular activities.

My Story

My professional journey includes:
-
rePULSE Certification: I am a certified coach for rePULSE, a program developed by Swedish psychologist Gunilla Dorbin. This program is part of Sweden’s child development initiatives and focuses on helping children improve impulse control and self-esteem.
-
Child-Friendly Negotiation Skills Course: Collaborating with American author Professor Stuart Diamond, I helped adapt his book “Getting More” into a life skills course for children. This course, now implemented in several Swedish schools, teaches children how to negotiate and handle difficult situations like bullying, peer pressure, and conflicts, including those with adults.
-
Public Speaking: Hosted workshops and seminars for business leaders and school management teams on the "Getting More" negotiation strategies and how to negotiate difficult meetings.
-
Discreet Coaching Model: Together with a Clinical Psychologist, I co-developed a coaching model that supports children with neurodevelopmental disorders without drawing unwanted attention. This model has been successfully implemented in multiple schools.
-
ADHD Research: I recently completed studies on the latest research and practices in ADHD through Kings College, London.
-
Coaching Registration: I am a registered coach with COMENSA (Coaches and Mentors of South Africa).
My Approach
As someone diagnosed with ADHD later in life, my journey has been filled with complexities and challenges. Working with children has given me a unique understanding of ADHD, allowing me to see reflections of my own struggles in the students I coach. This insight drives my commitment to creating personalised strategies that address each child’s unique needs.
Communicating your child’s difficulties to their school can be daunting and time-consuming, often leading to misunderstandings. My experience allows me to bridge the gap between parents, schools, and children, ensuring that your child receives the support they need to thrive.
For parents, I offer strategies that not only help you manage your child’s behavior at home but also strengthen your relationship with them. Parenting is undoubtedly the most challenging job in the world, and mistakes are inevitable. However, the confidence gained from successfully supporting your child is invaluable.
I offer support in English, Afrikaans, and Swedish. I specialise in children ages 9-18, but should you need assistance for children younger or even adults, please get in touch, and we can discuss the situation in an initial consultation.
